Pooled Fund Grant: Frequently Asked Questions​

Review these key questions before you apply. This FAQ covers our eligibility rules, application deadlines, and funding priorities to help you get started.

Applicant Eligibility

​

Is my organization eligible to apply?

Your organization is eligible if you meet both of these requirements:

  1. Your services benefit residents of Kootenai County.

  2. You are a qualified 501(c)(3) entity OR meet charitable guidelines set by the Idaho Community Foundation.

 

We are a past WGA grantee. Can we re-apply?

Yes. However, organizations may only receive one Pooled Fund Grant within a three-year period.

How to Apply

​

What is the application deadline?

January 26, 2026. All applications must be completed digitally and submitted via email by this date.

Funding Criteria & Details

​

What type of projects do you fund?

We fund projects that make a significant community impact by demonstrating one or more of the following:

  • Addressing a community problem

  • Enriching the fabric of the community

  • Fostering collaboration

  • Creating a bold new venture

​

How much are the grant awards?

We anticipate grant awards will be approximately $30,000.

 

What are the restrictions on the grant funds?

There are three main restrictions:

  1. Funds cannot be used for endowments, fundraising activities, or expenses incurred before the grant is awarded.

  2. General operating expenses are only eligible if they are a necessary part of the specific project.

  3. Funds are not available until July 1, 2025.

 

When must the project start?

Your WGA-funded project must be initiated within 6 months of receiving the grant award.

What is the Women’s Gift Alliance (WGA)?

Our mission is to pool the talents and resources of women in Kootenai County to provide significant financial support for charitable, cultural, and educational projects in our community.

 

How are grant recipients selected?

The WGA Grant Committee reviews all applications, and our full membership votes to select the final grant recipients.​​

​​Applications for 2026 Grants are due January 26, 2026.
